Our Law Clerk believes

Our Law Clerk engages
with the legal team so we can best position the client for success.
Our Law Clerk performs a
variety of tasks to help the legal team including producing copies of client
documents, filing, opening and closing physical files, and obtaining certified
court documents in order to set the legal team up for success.
Our Law Clerk
understands the value of task delegation to the Firm and to the Client and
creating a team approach to get more done in less time.
Our Law Clerk also
enjoys opportunities to network with other colleagues and community members to
build the reputation of the Firm and the Team in the community.
Responsiblities:
Immigration
Cases
1.
Reviews
immigration filings to ensure that the information on the forms is consistent
and accurate. Compares filings to plan of action drafted by attorney to ensure
that client objectives are met. Organizes and arranges documents for filing.
2.
Reviews
and evaluate materials provided by the government or clients to identify
whether it will be sufficient for the case.
3.
Performs
legal research as requested by attorney including but not limited to retrieval
of public information records and government records. Obtain copies and
documents from court clerk.
4.
Review
and update immigration calendar maintained by firm.
5.
Drafts
legal documents (i.e. correspondence, pleadings, and forms) for review and
editing by supervising attorney. Aid in preparing criminal chart analysis that
explains immigration effects.
6.
Performs
typing, filings, and copying, scanning and indexing assignments as required.
7.
Monitor
government processing of filed cases. Follow-up with government as necessary.
8.
Prepare
closed files for archiving.
Criminal
Cases
1.
Draft and send out subpoenas. Draft court
filings and file at appropriate clerk’s office.
2.
Performs
legal research as requested by attorney including but not limited to retrieval
of public information records and government records. Obtain copies and
documents from court clerk.
3.
Review discovery. Organize discovery. Prepare summary of facts. Create
trial binders as needed.
4.
Reviews
and update court calendar maintained by firm.
5.
Prepare
closed files for archiving.
General Duties
1. Complete any assignments
assigned by the Office Administrator, Administrator or Owner.
2. Maintaining integrity of
firm databases. This may include scanning, labeling and organizing documents in
each file. Making sure that file notes, invoices, and both firm and individual
calendars are up to date.
3. Data entry. This may
include data entry into eImmigration, file notes, GoClio.
4.
Protects
law firm's reputation by keeping client information confidential.
5.
Updates
job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities; reading
legal publications; maintaining personal networks.
6. Assist with firm marketing
efforts.
